Some reflections from AVP Chicago... There is too much work for the time and energy available. Defensive posturing and positioning, vision enhancement, film review, serving and hitting mechanics, scramble plays, staying away from bad habits. There’s probably 15 specific things I want to work on. Too many. This leaves me with choices. 1. Tell myself to work on everything simultaneously somehow and just hope all 15 goals are magically achieved. A continually enticing but deceptive lie. 2. Don’t do anything to cope with the immensity of the task before me. An obvious no, but one I fall into more frequently than I’d like. 3. Prioritize. An ambiguous optimization monster but definitely the right choice. I don’t want to go too wide and not deep enough on any one goal, or too deep and not wide enough. But how wide is too wide and how deep is too deep, and for each goal? It is akin to a supply chain issue. I have not enough time and energy (trucks to transport) to transport too many goa...
