Say hello to our new featured artist, Sophie!!
From honeypot.stitchery (she/her): "Sophie's creativity and queer expression align seamlessly in the form of hand embroidery. Honeypot Stitchery, celebrating queerness and femininity, was founded in early 2021 to connect Sophie with the wider queer community, while living in a small town in Washington state. Gathering to make fiber arts were hisotrically one of the few ways women were able to spend time alone without men, and in the mid 1900's, the term "sewing circle" turned into a code word for closeted women. Now a Denver local, Sophie eagerly welcomes everyone to her sewing circle, honoring the legacy of queer women who came before her."
Pictured here is Rach's mom, who within moments of Sophie finishing hanging her work, bought one of Sophie's pieces! And that trend has continued onward...every time I take a photo of the wall, a new piece has sold! Don't sleep on this....Come into the gym today to snag the piece you want!!
As alway...
