Haji Mirzaman learned to operate the box camera, or Kamra-e-faoree in Dari, when he was just 15 years old. It’s thought to be the last remaining one in Afghanistan. Due to the scarcity of the paper needed to create negatives, this truly is a dying art. Haji taught this 4 sons how to use it but they have all fully adopted the digital age and he is now the last man standing.
