Teaching seems to run in Taelor Smith’s family. Her grandma and mom were teachers, and now she and two of her sisters teach.
“But I’m the first to do special education,” she said with a smile.
Taelor graduated in December with her degree in Special Education with an emphasis in Mild to Moderate Disabilities. She loves being in the classroom and seeing her students grow and succeed.
Taelor said that being a teacher, she is surrounded by other hardworking women mentors. She hopes to pay the favor forward by being a mentor to future teachers. She’s off to a pretty great start as she was awarded the Undergraduate Teaching Fellow of the Year from usucehs.
Throughout Women’s History Month, we will feature an outstanding woman from each college at USU. Stay tuned to meet the next student!
