70% of all tourism money leaves Thailand. It's called tourist leakage, where the tourism money spent in a country doesn't actually stay in the county because of foreign tour operators, foreign airlines, foreign-owned hotels, imported food and drink, etc. That's why we're so focused on local travel. It doesn't necessarily mean traveling close to home, but it does mean traveling in a way that supports local economies and local families, no matter where you are.
