Proud to have published my article “The Student－Athlete Dilemma: The Hidden Truth” in the —THEMIS Research Journal of Justice Studies and Forensic Science— @ San Jose State University! ✍🏽 This paper presents an in-depth analysis of the challenges faced by student-athletes as they transition to college life. Findings indicate that many student-athletes struggle with adapting to academic demands, navigating the college social landscape, and maintaining a healthy work-life balance (ie: mental health). To address these issues, this paper, upon several other recommendations, suggests that universities implement comprehensive orientation programs that provide student-athletes with the necessary tools, resources, and support to succeed.
