I wanna take a moment to recognize and thank my amazing, talented friend Moss of chasingtrailsart. I first met Moss on the Appalachian Trail and we’ve since gone on to complete some other wild adventures including the Wonderland Trail and the Patagonia O Circuit. It was important to me that someone who has hiked the AT design my book cover, and when another artist friend backed out of the project, Moss stepped in and made the most beautiful book cover that I could have ever dreamed of. I described what I wanted but I’m no visual artist, so I wasn’t sure that I was conveying it well. What Moss came up with, and pretty damn quickly, was more than I ever could have hoped for. She also drew up a map of the AT for the inside of the book. Honestly, she nailed both projects. She was quick with the work, super communicative, open to feedback, and just generally awesome to work with.
