As part of ongoing commemorations of Black History Month, the Maryland Center for History and Culture (MCHC) collaborated with our friends at the marylandstatearchives and bannekerdouglassmuseum in an exhibition at Government House courtesy of Governor Wes Moore (govwesmoore) and First Lady Dawn Moore (dawnflythemoore) Historic photographs by Paul S. Henderson (1899 - 1988) joined paintings and other artworks in a compelling curation of Black history, art, and culture in Maryland. Check the link in our bio to explore Henderson's work in our Collections Online. Several examples are also on display in our on-site exhibition "Passion & Purpose: Voices of Maryland's Civil Rights Activists."
