Today is World Parkinson’s Day! This gives us an opportunity to learn, discuss and spread a greater understanding of Parkinson’s Disease.🌷 • Parkinson’s now affects 145,000 people throughout the UK • It is a neurological disease which is progressive • Parkinson’s affects everyone differently • There are over 40 symptoms including, tremor, freezing, change in sleep and mental health. • Symptoms fluctuate on a daily basis. Whilst there is currently no cure, there is a tremendous amount of research being carried out to find one. Medical advances mean that those living with Parkinson’s Disease are able to take appropriate medication to alleviate the symptoms of the disease.
