āØThings that went well and learnings in my marathon build to londonmarathon 2024āØ
Things that went well:
⢠I rarely went 100% in training, this allowed me to recover, stay consistent and avoid risk of injury. I would do 1 track session on a Tuesday, 1 tempo session on a Friday and a long run on a Sunday. If my body didnāt feel ready to do a session I wasnāt afraid to push it to the next day. I would then push all my sessions a day meaning I didnāt necessarily work in 7 day cycles.
⢠Covered a wide variety of sessions in my training, paying attention to every intensity zone more than ever. ALOT of easy running and more speed work and steady long runs. I didnāt actually do much at marathon pace - coachteamthie loves a minutes workout or cruise intervals, in my plan I regularly had my tempo run broken into smaller reps rather than long efforts. Large volume (up to an hour) of 1 -2 min on / off.
