Good Friday seems like it may be misnamed, for it is the day that our Lord Jesus was brutally crucified, died, and buried. The darkest day in history, but not the end we could have known. It is called Good Friday because of what the crucifixion means. By dying on that cross, Jesus bore the sins of the world; he paid the price of rebelling against God. Out of his mighty love for you, for me, and for the rest of the world, Jesus sacrificed his own life. That three days later, Jesus would rise again, defeating sin and death, and making a way for us that we might have eternal life with the Father.
