I found out about swellsculpture by brynnewman who told me I should apply in 2020. I finally made it here come 2023. It’s funny how timing works - no matter how much we plan, life has its own plans. This work is called ‘Forget me not Eternal’ it’s about the land and it’s people and our deep dependence and connection with Mother Earth. We are not separate from but an extension of this earth and all life that springs forth from it. Each flower is an offering for the indigenous who have fought and survived in a system that has purposely worked against them. Flowers to me represent resilience, blooming against all odds. The cycles of life, death and rebirth, that comes with every season. The spiral 🌀 is a symbol that exists in almost every culture throughout history. To me it is a reminder that we must turn in before we turn out to create the world we wish to see. To spring from the center and move forward mindfully, full of heart.
