This week, on a new episode of the Team Deakins Podcast, composer Hans Zimmer (DUNE, INTERSTELLAR, THE LION KING) joins us in conversation. Hans reflects on his experiences working with Christopher Nolan, revealing how he composed for those films despite the director being reluctant to share footage and sending Chris music without revealing for which scene it was composed. We discuss working in live-action versus animation and how the 2019 remake of THE LION KING differs from the original 1994 film. Towards the end, Hans opines that the Hollywood sound is really made in London and revels in the joy of conducting an orchestra that has played everything until he brings an original score to their stands.
Hear more from Hans on Wednesday!
