The Safari Rally in Kenya is the special one of the World Rally Championship. It’s a rally that everybody knows from the past and one where we’ve had really exciting races before. It’s always a big challenge with amazing scenery! Two interesting points from this rally are the timing and the recce. The timing of the rally’s a bit different with the rainy season. This means that we can have a lot of rain, which can make really big changes on stages, because here when it rains it pours. Getting this ground wet means it gets really muddy, and the grip levels can be zero. It could be like driving on ice with summer tires! The recce on the other hand is really difficult, trying to find all the dangers and the things you need to have on the notes. They need to be really precise since in the grass you can find stones and other surprises.
