A #KentuckyDerby150 to remember 🌹 Following a dominant performance by Thorpedo Anna (Fast Anna) in Friday’s GI Longines Kentucky Oaks, trainer Kenny McPeek and jockey Brian Hernandez, Jr. teamed up once again to win a thrilling edition of the GI Kentucky Derby with MYSTIK DAN (Goldencents) 🏆 In a three-way photo finish, Mystik Dan won it by a nose over Sierra Leone, with Forever Young a nose back in third. McPeek became the third trainer in history to complete the Oaks-Derby double, and the first since 1952, while Hernandez became the first jockey since 2009 to sweep the Oaks-Derby. And another history tidbit: it was the first three-horse #KyDerby photo finish since 1947. Read the full recap over at thetdn.com 🗞
