“The additional fountain phase will include the projection of video content on the water, so the water serves as a screen” - Lori Boyer — After 3-years of delays & repairs, Friendship Fountain reopened this past Thursday, Feb 15, during DTJax Sip & Stroll & I was lucky enough to grab a few pictures throughout the evening, which ended with HushHushJax Silent Disco party at the DoubleTree. Costing $7.95 million in renovations, Friendship Fountain has a new pavement design around it, new landscaping, & my personal favorite additions (outside of the fountain itself) are the circular cement fixtures you’ll find surrounding the fountain, which not only serve as seating areas, but have speakers built into them that allowed the music / speeches to play seamlessly throughout the park.
