GRs are sneaky good. It’s easy to know which hyped sneakers are dropping. They are all over social media and they are highlighted in the SNKRS app. GRs on the other hand, not so much. Prime example are these Nike Spiridon Cage 2s. A retro from 2003, they released in April this year without much fanfare. There wasn’t a steady stream of phony stock numbers, back door allegations, or resell predictions. The sneaker released, it sat, I saw it, and got it. There are endless GRs sneakers from all brands out there that are great, often times better quality and design than some of the hyped stuff. But today’s modern sneaker landscape doesn’t seem to value those. The culture has shifted to where people aren’t interested in wearing sneakers, they’re more interested in being seen wearing sneakers. Actually wearing and enjoying a GR sneaker that doesn’t resell is the true sign of a sneaker head. We wear sneakers not to be seen, but to feel a certain way while we wear them. Iykyk. 🧢: nike...
