After almost a year of communications regarding the use of the Tradex, Tourism Abbotsford is happy to hear that the facility will remain event-based, and looks forward to working with the new operators, Harbour Event and Convention Centre, as of early July. “After almost two years of navigating challenges presented by the pandemic, coupled with the Sumas Prairie flooding, which severely affected our farms and local businesses, we needed this good news and are grateful that Abbotsford’s positioning as a strong event destination will continue into the future. Although Tourism Abbotsford was a proponent in the Request for Proposals process, the bigger goal was always to keep Tradex as a multi-purpose event space,” says Craig Nichols, Executive Director of Tourism Abbotsford.
