Is Sunrise @ Moraine Lake worth the 2am ⏰?? • Day 1 - we camped nearby, waking at 3:45am to arrive to Moraine by 4:10 — only to find the parking lot full/gate closed! 😲 • Day 2 - determined to catch sunrise at this bucket list spot, we arrived by 2am and snagged a parking spot! We proceeded to ‘sleep’ in the car until 5am, then awaited the 7:10am show 🤩. WHAT WE WISH WE KNEW 🫠… • 🚌 — parks.canada offers public transit that departs from a nearby (Large) parking lot. Busses leave as early as 6:30am. If you want to catch the early bus you MUST book well in advance. Visit Reaervation.pc.gc.ca to reserve a seat for $10! • 🚶🏻‍♀️ Walking to the lake is not a realistic option. Even camping at nearby Lake Louise, it’s ~a 15 mile trek, uphill. • 📌 Moraine Lake is VERY close to the famed #lakelouise! On Day 1, when we didn’t make sunrise at Moraine, we high-tailed it to Lake Louise and easily caught sunrise. The parking lot is MUCH larger, and even by 6:30am there were numerous spots....
