You may not guess that much of San Diego is a dry desert climate & hiking in the nearby mountains during summer can be brutal! 🥵 Since we’re preparing for backpacking adventures & want to continue exploring—HERE’S 4 TIPS to STAY COOL (and safe!) on the trails this summer—

💦 Bring more water than you think you need—when your bodies hydrated you stay cooler! And using a ‘water bladder’ is awesome because you drink more frequently. We also carry our lifestraw for emergencies!

👚 Wear Proper Clothing—something that is sweat wicking & doesn’t hold in heat, like nylon, polyester or even cotton! Evan often wears his work (construction) shirts because they’re light, loose, cover his skin, and are inexpensive 😆. I love hooded SPF shirts & have 2 pairs of pearlizumi’s 50 SPF sun sleeves to pull on & off + rinse easily!
