With everything we’ve seen happen in our communities in 2020, I’m excited to invest in projects and ideas that push us forward—together. Now more than ever, we need first responders and police officers who don’t just understand residents’ concerns, but have the leadership skills and the relationships to work with and alongside the communities they serve to bring a new vision of public safety to life. Crescent City Corps is building a movement of first responders and law enforcement officers who are focused on reimagining public safety to be more inclusive, equitable, and just. My investment will build the base for this movement by putting New Orleans Police Department officers through critical training in leadership, racial equity, and community engagement. I’m excited for the work ahead and what we can accomplish.
