My coming out story is a little weird. My now husband and I were cast as Hanschen and Ernst (the gay lovers) in a Dallas production of Spring Awakening, and the Dallas LGBT newspaper wrote an article about our relationship on and off stage. I didn't think my family would ever see something in a gay publication! Well almost two years later, my brother was Googling our family members and found it, and the rest is history. Coming out isn't the most fun thing, but I think the important thing is that you do it when YOU are ready. - While I actually didn't mind being "in the closet," it is a lot easier to live a more positive and free life when you have nothing to hide.
