Fun facts about this guy for #PigeonWeek: 🪶Genetically, the Nicobar Pigeon is the closest living relative to the extinct Dodo. 🪶Nicobar Pigeons have exceptionally beautiful and long, iridescent feathers (called hackles) that drape down over their shoulders, making them easier to spot in the National Aviary’s Tropical Rainforest habitat. 🪶If they sense danger Nicobar Pigeons will try to scare off an intruder by making a pig-like grunt. 🐷 national_aviary
