Two extra-inning thrillers closed out a sweep of Washington at last Thursday’s game, putting an exclamation point at the end of Cal baseball’s 2024 regular season. The Bears wasted no time demonstrating their home-field advantage by grabbing a commanding lead to start the game. The next two games combined for 21 innings, both ending in extra-inning walk-off wins. “We showed a lot of perseverance. We were down in the last two games and even when (Washington) scored, we were able to answer back,” said Cal head coach Mike Neu. Cal finishes the year with a 34-18 overall record.
