REPOST from bellaterracommunity Ocean pollution is one of the greatest threats to our oceans and our planet. 8-12 million metric tons of plastic enter out oceans every year. Most plastics are non decomposable and the ones that are can take more than 500 years to decay in the ocean or a landfill. Marine life such as fish, sea turtles and marine mammals like dolphins, seals and polar bears are at ultimate risk for habitat destruction and extinction. Ocean pollution not only directly kills these precious animals by suffocation, disease and starvation but can also affect mating rituals which can wipe out an entire species. We donate our proceeds to theoceancleanup to help fight plastic in the ocean!
