4-9-2022 SANTA CLARITA: Per the Los Angeles County SCV Station, “On Saturday, April 9th at approximately 3:10am, deputies received a call for service where a victim witnessed the theft of a catalytic converter and maintained observation of the suspects’ vehicle. SCV deputies located the vehicle and attempted to conduct a traffic stop, however the suspected vehicle proceeded to flee, leading to a brief pursuit. Due to the suspected vehicle’s erratic driving, the pursuit was quickly terminated. Upon termination of the pursuit, less than a minute later, deputies were requested for assistance by an officer with Burbank PD who was in the area and had observed a reported stolen vehicle, unrelated to the previous incident. SCV Deputies responded to assist the Burbank officer, however while doing so, a traffic collision occurred on Lyons Avenue and the 5 Freeway in Newhall involving an SCV deputy and the suspects from the previous theft.
