From a brush fire (and a half) to a mass casualty incident at the prison. LASD and LACoFD were busy in SCV today. ••• SANTA CLARITA 7-15-21: Officials responding to a brush fire noticed a larger, second fire about a mile away from the first, much more well established than the original fire. The “Needham Fire” burned 5 acres near Needham Ranch and Sierra Hwy. The original fire, named the “Oil Fire” burned about one acre near Placerita Canyon and Sierra Hwy. Unknown cause for both. PITCHESS DETENTION CENTER 7-15-21: 7 LASD officials and 2 inmates were transported to the hospital after a riot sparked inside the prison. Due to the mass of patients, a MCI, or mass casualty incident, was called.
