“She was willing to go to the career fair as a first-year student, and she was willing to set up meetings with me ahead of time to be prepared for that, she had taken the time to think about what she wanted, and how she might be able to find it,” Luensmann said. In spring of 2021, Theresa Luensmann, career coach for the college of engineering, met with a freshman engineering student, Mia Toigo. Luensmann started helping Toigo with her resume, but ended up meeting with her throughout the year and helped her to prepare for the career fair, where Toigo landed a summer internship with Olsson Associates.
