It's Tip Tuesday! Hear advice from our Career Coaches about job searching and career tips!
Today, Holly Smith, Career Coach from the College of Education and Human Sciences shares her advice on how to juggle a job with a busy college schedule.
"Research shows working part-time for 10-15 hours a week is beneficial to student success! Especially your freshman year is provides additional structured time for you to be accountable to. However, when you get into the 20-30 hours a week range, it has been shown to negatively impact your academics. Finding a job that respects these boundaries is an important first step in taking control of your academic success. Additionally, taking a job on campus has many benefits including building relationships with professionals and fellow students on campus, minimizing travel time and increasing flexibility, and exploring areas of campus you may not have otherwise."
