"I have been struggling with finding my “why” or my purpose in life for a while. It was not until recently that I discovered it. My purpose in life is to build a better world for all of Black America and unite the African diaspora. I know that I can accomplish this by pursuing a career in medicine to help the underserved and pursuing a career in the political or governmental field, where I can be a leader, advocate, and friend for my brothers and sisters. It is no secret that Black people are at higher risk of diseases, Black women are more likely to experience maternal mortality, and Black people in the LGBTQ community experience discrimination in healthcare.
