Earlier this month, we proudly announced our partnership with the San Diego River Conservancy (SDRC). With May being Wildfire Awareness Month, we're excited to delve deeper into the first phase of our new vegetation plan.🌱
In our Fuel Reduction Project, Girl Scouts San Diego is taking proactive steps to mitigate wildfire risks by targeting 144 acres of our total 672-acre property. 🌳 We'll be removing dead and dying trees affected by the Goldspotted Oak Borer. Using innovative air curtain burner technology, GSSD aims to create resilient landscapes and ecosystems (i.e. plant and animal life) that can better withstand the threat of wildfires. 🏞️
