May is #BrainTumorAwarenessMonth, a month that hits close to home for some of our patients and families. The Pediatric Neuro-Oncology Program at Yale is dedicated to providing comprehensive, multidisciplinary care for children, adolescents, and young adults with primary brain and spinal cord tumors. The program combines cutting-edge treatment modalities with compassionate care, supported by a team of specialists, including pediatric oncology (Dr. Asher Marks, Dr. Vidya Puthenpura, Kate Hallissey, APRN, Cristy Ballou, RN, Marisol Lassalle, LCSW), neuropsychology (Dr. Lyn Balsamo), neurosurgery (Dr. Michael DiLuna, Jeannine Rockefeller, APRN, Michaela McFillin, APRN, Erica Towne, APRN, Jen Nicolelli, RN, Brendan Hallett, RN), and radiation oncology (Dr. Ranjit Bindra). The program ensures access to the latest clinical trials, aiming to advance the understanding and treatment of pediatric brain tumors while striving to improve survival rates and quality of life for all patients.
