The Blackout, Slam Dunk Festival 2024 REVIEW: “You’ve made this old man very happy,” Sean Smith smiles, looking over the endless heads joining The Blackout in celebrating their seminal album ‘The Best In Town’. It’s actually 15 years ago to the day since that very record was released, so for them to have a chance to play it front-to-back feels all the more fitting. And those riffs still sound as thunderous and triumphant all these years later. ‘Children Of The Night’ is vicious, ‘Silent (When We Speak)’ is heart-wrenching and ‘Save Our Selves (The Warning)’ is all-out jubilance, and they are all delivered like they are the last thing the band will ever do. Admittedly, they are the first to say that they don’t have any further plans following this weekend. But when you’re having this much fun, surely it would be rude not to let the good times keep rolling? ✏️ Jack Rogers 📸 Corinne Cumming #theblackout #rock #alternative
