Head Automatica, Slam Dunk Festival 2024 REVIEW: We really needed Head Automatica to come back, didn’t we? Celebrating 20 years since their debut album ‘Decadence’ introduced hardcore kids to the power of the disco ball, their return feels like the shot of colour that the world needs right now. Even though we are used to Daryl Palumbo ripping himself to shreds on stage, seeing his charisma shine through the kaleidoscopic lens that the likes of ‘Brooklyn Is Burning’ and ‘Dance Party Plus’ allow is really lovely to behold. There’s room for some extra bangers, too, with ‘Popaganda’ cut ‘Graduation Day’ getting the dancefloor shuffling and brand-new track ‘Bear The Cross’ slotting into proceedings nicely.
