I’m smiling in this pic, but the reality is that I was crying in the bathroom before this race filled with self doubt and afraid to step to the line. This season has been a mental battle, but it has taught me that fear is not a reason to avoid action. Whether that’s being afraid to enter treatment, start a race, or tell the truth, facing my fears has always left me feeling better than if I had shied away.
