Did You Know: There is a golf course sitting dormant and overgrown within the Cape Cod National Seashore that was once described as “one of the finest natural layouts in the world.”
Cedar Bank Links was built for Quincy Adams Shaw, descendant of President John Adams, as a way to “ease his shattered nerves," following a decade-long stint in McLean Hospital.
It was said that Francis Ouimet and Bobby Jones once teed it up together at the links.
The land was sold to the Seashore in 1959, and with that, one of the nation's great links dissolved.
