The U.S. Open is underway at George C. Thomas' Los Angeles CC North. We took a closer look at Thomas' first ever design, local gem Marion GC. Both courses feature a short par-3 (15 at LACC, 9 at Marion) guarded by impeding doom bunkers. And while LACC is defined by natural barrancas, Marion's character lies in its stony walls.
