After Leverkusen’s DFB Pokal win yesterday, Heidenheim and Lennard Maloney have qualified for the Europa Conference League playoffs.
They finished 8th in their first ever Bundesliga season. 👏🏾
Maloney has been a key player for them. It’s a shame he’s not in the latest USMNT squad.
He is a 6’2 no-nonsense tough tackler, who is versatile enough to play both as a defensive midfielder and a center-back.
Maloney played 29 league games for Heidenheim this season, including in the win over Bayern Munich and the two draws against Borussia Dortmund.
These are excellent results especially considering Heidenheim just got promoted last year, for the first time ever in their history.

The 24-year-old Maloney was also key in helping them get promoted.
