“I got through yesterday, I'll get through today.”
Maia Signore, a graduating senior on the team, had two choices at the beginning of the year. Either get knee surgery and miss her senior swim season or get through the day. Not only did Maia get through the day, she got through the YEAR.
She had many opportunities to quit on the bad days where it felt hard to see the end, but do not confuse the bad days with weakness. Those were the days where Maia was fighting her hardest to get through the set, the practice, the meet, the day, the YEAR.
Maia completed her senior year at MAC Championships where she made it back to finals in both the 100 and 200 fly. Upon graduation Maia will be attending George Washington University to pursue a masters in healthcare administration.
