Today, unfortunately, #SCOTUS threw out the DOJ’s case against the state of Texas and once again refused to block #SB8. But, they did allow abortion providers to sue some Texas state officials, which means that that case can still continue in the lower courts. While this is a bit of good news, the fact of the matter is that millions of people are being harmed RIGHT NOW by this ban on abortion. SB 8 has caused untold harm—forcing those who can afford it to travel out of state for the care they need, and those who can’t to remain pregnant against their will. As it stands, SB 8 makes accessing abortion care in Texas nearly impossible.
