Forgiving those who have wronged us helps us experience healing and peace. Forgiving is far easier said than done, however by doing so we can make our lives a more peaceful place. In Genesis 45 we see an exceptional story of forgiveness. Joseph sees his brothers for the first time since they sold him to Egypt. After all the hurt and hardship they caused Joseph, he had every right to be angry. Of all the things he could've said and done when he saw his brothers, he said: "Now therefore be not grieved, nor angry with yourselves, that ye sold me hither; for God did send me before you to preserve life" Then he embraced his brothers. Joseph remained faithful and allowed for the Lord to change his perspective through all his hardship. He no longer saw the cruelty of his brothers, but instead the hand of the Lord guiding him to prepare the way for others. I am in awe of his faith, mercy, and charity.
