I’ve always heard the saying that God gives his toughest battles to his toughest soldiers, but I didn’t understand that meaning until now. Twice now, my season has ended short due to an injury. The first time it happened my freshman year, I continued to look to the brighter side and continued to believe that I will come out of this stronger. Hungrier than ever while emerging into my sophomore year I changed things in my diet, bad habits, and the time I poured into my mental being changed because I wanted more . I wanted to be GREAT. I was doing everything right or what I was supposed to do so I could prevent this from happening, but it happened anyway. This time the injury was much worse and so surprising. The doctors had told me I tore a smaller part of my hamstring off my tendon, and that basically Pac-12’s, Regionals, NCAA’s, and Olympic Trials were off the table.
