#Repost uojazz with get_repost ・・・ We’re very excited for our next guest artist of the term, trumpeter Tanya Darby, who will be joining us for a jazz masterclass this Thursday, April 30, at 2 pm over Zoom. Tanya is the current Brass Chair at Berklee College of Music, and a current/veteran member of the Vanguard Jazz Orchestra, the Roy Hargrove Big Band, the DIVA Jazz Orchestra, the Michel Camilo Big Band, the Rufus Reid Large Ensemble, and more. She has also toured with Dianne Reeves, Clark Terry, Jon Faddis, Gladys Knight, the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, the Duke Ellington Orchestra, the Mingus Big Band, and has played lead trumpet with numerous groups including the Count Basie Orchestra, Paquitio D’Rivera and the United Nations Orchestra, and Jimmy Heath’s Queens Jazz Orchestra, among many others. She has previously served as assistant professor of lead trumpet at the University of North Texas, and adjunct faculty at Temple University and the New School University of New York. ...
