On Wim Wenders Wednesday, writer and director Wim Wenders (PERFECT DAYS; WINGS OF DESIRE; PARIS, TEXAS) joins us in conversation on the newest episode of the Team Deakins Podcast. Early on in the episode, Wim recounts waiting in the toilet stalls of a theatre as a student in Paris and watching over 1000 movies in a year before realizing film was his future. Wim later shares how the city of Berlin (still divided at the time) influenced the production of WINGS OF DESIRE and reflects on the power of place, the trick behind shooting road movies, and working on a post-pandemic story in Tokyo on PERFECT DAYS. We also learn which of Wim’s many films is his favourite, and we venture a guess at the future of filmmaking and filmgoing.
Be sure to listen in two more days!
