The Year of the Dragon begins tomorrow, but the Weekend of the Deakins has already begun in Chicago!⁠ ⁠ Yesterday, we led a workshop with a group of bright and industrious students from DePaul University and guided them through a series of lighting and camera exercises at the wonderful Cinespace Soundstages. It was fun fielding questions from them and demonstrating some old tricks!⁠ ⁠ We’ll be in and out of DePaul over the weekend sharing more insights with their students, and on Sunday, we’ll be at the Music Box Theatre to participate in a Q&A to a sold-out crowd for a screening of JESSE JAMES on 35mm.
