Next Wednesday, on a new episode of the Team Deakins Podcast, we’re finally bringing on a much-requested guest: cinematographer Steve Yedlin (GLASS ONION, STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI, LOOPER). A conversation more technical than usual, we find time to dig into Steve’s past, rooming with director Rian Johnson at USC and crewing on early-career, no-budget films. We consider the merits of film school and whether cinematography is actually teachable, as well as reflecting on the nature of luck in one’s career.
