Mark your calendars: next Wednesday, we’re releasing one of our most laugh-filled episodes of the Team Deakins Podcast featuring actor, director, and showrunner Bill Hader (BARRY, INSIDE OUT, THE SKELETON TWINS). Reared in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Bill describes how he rode into town and spent six years crewing on low-budget films before taking improv at Second City and being recruited to join SNL. After eight seasons on the show, Bill clocked out one last time, and he reveals how he studied screenwriting while working on SOUTH PARK and INSIDE OUT before ultimately creating BARRY with fellow showrunner Alec Berg. During our conversation, we also learn how his craft as a director has evolved, under what conditions he first learned what a controlled burn is, and how he was rejected from CalArts for being “too entertaining.”
It was great to speak with Bill, and we hope you listen in next week!
