In this episode, Sturla tells us about shooting his first documentary film, Songs for Alexis, and how working on documentaries taught him how to find the light and get in touch with his intuition. We discuss the importance of cinematographers shooting with cuts in mind and how Sturla edits out shots in his head when he’s under the gun on set. Sturla tells us how he met Sebastian Schipper and how Victoria came to be– they did many test shoots!
