Agnieszka tells us how she found the style for Europa Europa, what her responsibility is to the true stories she dramatizes, how directors appropriate everything from the world around them and start to believe it’s all their own, and that she has more freedom when she works in Europe. Agnieszka finds the fine line between the path of good or bad to be interesting and she loves the mini-series format. She shares hilarious stories from her time directing episodes of House of Cards, and her thoughts about how the decision about where to put the camera is an important one, but some American directors just shoot footage for the editor. To her, modern movies are forgettable and exchangeable and she finds that the less expensive the movie is, the more freedom she has to make it.
