In Wednesday's episode, Team Deakins speaks with Polish director Agnieszka Holland! In this episode, Agnieszka tells us that she aspired to be a painter, but chose to direct films instead because it was a visual medium where she could express her full self and tell people what to do! We discuss the cinema of the sixties, the different waves and schools of thought, as well as what films influenced her at a young age. She liked the Polish dark romanticism and Czech playfulness and cynicism. Agnieszka tells us about the development of Angry Harvest, how she loved the speed of working in television and how it was a lesson in contemporary America, and that she has no problem directing projects that aren’t political. We learn a lot in this episode! Don't miss it! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
